About Bond Visual

Building project intelligence software for Power BI, with a roadmap toward AI-assisted executive storytelling.

About the company

Bond Visual is an Australian software company based in Sydney, focused on developing specialised project intelligence products for Microsoft Power BI.

The company addresses a practical problem in project delivery: organisations often have detailed schedule and project data, but the information can be difficult to communicate effectively to executives and wider stakeholders.

Bond Visual is building reusable software products that bring richer project visualisation and analysis directly into the Power BI environment, reducing the need to manually recreate schedule information in spreadsheets, presentations and static reporting packs.

The initial products are being developed as a commercial software portfolio rather than as bespoke project-management consulting services.

What we are building

The initial product portfolio consists of four Power BI products covering timeline visualisation, scenario comparison, dependency analysis and advanced temporal reporting.

These products are being developed as a coherent software portfolio. The current engineering programme includes production hardening, automated testing, visual regression testing, beta validation, packaging, deployment and preparation for potential Microsoft certification.

Intended users include project managers, schedulers, project controls professionals, PMOs, programme leaders, infrastructure teams and executives who rely on Power BI for project reporting and decision-making.

Customer discovery and product direction

Bond Visual is not treating the initial visual products as the final destination for the business. Customer discovery is being used to understand how project professionals and executives want complex project information to be interpreted and communicated.

This work is informing a broader product concept around Project Executive Storytelling: helping transform detailed project information into concise, useful information that supports executive understanding and decision-making.

The objective is to validate the most valuable use cases before committing to a larger cloud-based product architecture.

AI and Google Cloud

AI is part of the longer-term product roadmap. The current Power BI visual products do not depend on generative AI and operate primarily through client-side visualisation and analysis.

The planned direction is to use AI to complement the visual layer, potentially analysing project and schedule information to produce concise narrative insights around milestones, schedule variance, risks, dependencies and other project signals.

Google Cloud and Gemini are being evaluated as potential infrastructure for these capabilities. This creates an opportunity to use Google Cloud for AI experimentation, prototyping, API development and, if validated, future production workloads.

The intention is to use cloud services where they create a measurable product benefit rather than introducing cloud infrastructure simply for its own sake.

Company stage

Bond Visual is currently at the product-development and validation stage.

Four products have substantial development underway. The immediate objective is to convert that development work into reliable, tested and commercially viable software.

Planned milestones include product completion, structured beta testing, customer validation, production release, ongoing product development and assessment for distribution through the Microsoft ecosystem.

Product philosophy

  • Power BI first: build directly into the reporting environment organisations already use.
  • Product over services: create repeatable software that can serve many customers rather than relying on bespoke consulting.
  • Enterprise-aware: consider security, privacy, performance, accessibility and maintainability from the beginning.
  • AI where it helps: use AI to solve meaningful product problems rather than adding AI simply for marketing value.
  • Evidence-driven development: use automated testing, customer feedback and measurable product behaviour to guide development.
